Reaping what I sow.
Apr 2nd, 2006 by B.
Sundays are the toughest for me. Maybe it’s the lack of open-ness (nothing is open on sunday, german law) or maybe it’s just that sunday used to be my favorite day in america. Either way, this sunday I wish I could go home… sleep in, then read for a few hours, then out to lunch at my favorite mexican restaurant, then off to borders to hang out and read some more, then a little light shopping, then back home to eat nerds & reese’s pieces in bed while watching the Sopranos on HBO.
**Perfect Day–Lou Reed**
Just a perfect day…
drink Sangria in the park.
And then later when it gets dark, we go home.
Just a perfect day… feed animals in the zoo.
Then later a movie, too, and then home.
Oh, it’s such a perfect day… i’m glad I spend it with you.
Oh, such a perfect day… you just keep me hanging on.
You just keep me hanging on.
Just a perfect day… problems all left alone.
Weekenders on our own, it’s such fun.
Just a perfect day… you made me forget myself.
I thought I was someone else. someone good.
Oh, it’s such a perfect day … i’m glad I spent it with you.
Oh, such a perfect day… you just keep me hanging on.
You just keep me hanging on
You’re going to reap just what you sow.
You’re going to reap just what you sow.
You’re going to reap just what you sow.
You’re going to reap just what you sow.

It’s nothing to do with germany, its culture, its citizens… more just that I’m looking back instead of forward. That always makes me blue.
Tomorrow will be better.

I hear you loud and clear. Been there many, many Sundays.
I’m totally with you — I hate this whole “plan ahead” thing. I likes to do my shopping on my own schedule.
Great song.
I’ve been reading since you started this, but posting one of my all time fave songs drove me to finally comment.
I’ve spent a lot of time looking back lately and I don’t even have the excuse of life changing events and Sunday being closed. Tomorrow will be better.
By the way, I’d DIE over there…Sunday is my main shopping day.
Thanks guys. And Trish (aka TXshutrbg) glad you decided to pop up and say ‘hi’!
Lou Reed rocks.
Gosh, the Sunday thing — I really agree that Sunday is the most annoying day of the week. In the states I would go to Borders and spend the day there, or go shopping in general. Here? No hope of this happening!
I know what you mean, which is why I try to plan things that even remotely look interesting to me for Sundays. How about using Sundays to do some sightseeing in your area?
I miss Borders.
I agree. I used to get up and make a big pot of coffee and read the Sunday New York Times in bed. Then some shopping in the afternoon. Sometimes brunch at the local diner was on the list. It is these little rituals and “little things” that make life nice sometimes. Maybe time to start new rituals?? It is difficult to let the old ones go though.
