In theory…

Ok, tell me if this makes sense… friday starts the world cup stuff, so Berlin will obviously be packed with flockers, BUT they will all be flocking to one place. Which means it most likely would be an ideal weekend to visit Berlin and take in the sights as long as you avoid world cuppage. Right? Or is it best to avoid Berlin like the plague until everyone goes home?
It’s just that I was on Sven’s blog and saw all his great zoo photos and now I’m wanting to hit the Berlin zoo this weekend, but mister ‘me. jim. me. no. fun.’ says it will be too crowded due to soccer/football…
On this day..

“Hey honey, how about we all pile into the car AGAIN this weekend and you can drive us halfway across the country AGAIN” Hmmmm.. As the chauffeur, I think my opinion seems to go largely unheard.. LOL
heh, wimp!
Did I mention that my Tempomat unit hasn’t arrived yet? Yes, I’m a lazy american, but it’s hard work keeping a Skoda going 180 on the autobahn…
Skodas go 180? And I mean forward, not on ice…
Being the boring old voice of reason, I’d say “Stay Away!” While the zoo itself may not be filled with tourist, the public transport will! I used to live in Melbourne- home of a F`1 Grand Prix, Tennis Open, Australian Rules Football, I know these things!
Thank you for the compliment… and maybe the zoo in Leipzig is a good alternative. I heard good things about it.
Adam- Yes, the Skoda gets up there.. but talking about it is a little like watching a couple of 80 year olds screw. Sure, theoretically it’s possible…. but really, who wants to see that.
Except Jim that is…
Oh sure… Sven isn’t even on my side! I’ve been meaning to check out Leipzig, but I bet it’s no Berlin zoo.
Adam, believe it or not.. I’ve actually had our octavia above the factory specified top speed (180 KPH) It’s all gearing related. But it can do it…
JK- I bet you were going downhill.
I vote for Leipzig — it’s a beautiful city–although I cannot speak for the zoo. Plus, if you’re tired of driving, the train takes only an hour or so from Dresden, and the Leipzig Hbf is right in the middle of the action, unlike the Berlin Hbf.
