Pimp My Octavia.
Jun 24th, 2006 by B.
I’m convinced Jim regrets buying the Octavia. I can’t help wondering what took him so long, but that’s not important right now. So instead of admitting he made a mistake, he’s compensating by tricking out our skoda as much as humanly possible. In the four months we’ve had it he’s upgraded the stereo system, installed some sort of performance enhancing chip, added a navigational system and this weekend he’s adding cruise control. That’s right, it didn’t have it to begin with… damn car.
He doesn’t want to stop there, though… he’s been talking about installing a better center console, remote start, an improved central locking/unlocking system, adding a drop-down dvd player thingy for the girls and upgrading the seats. Soon I expect I’ll hear about in-dash fog machines, neon interior lights, custom paint job & foldout dance floor.
I keep telling him that no matter how much he does… at the end of the day, it’s still a Skoda.
On this day..

Woo hoo! Go Jim!
Jim, add some slick alloy rims, add ground effects and drop the body then proceed with B.’s suggestion of neon / custom paint / fog machine.

Combis aren’t tricked as often, but the extra rear cargo space lends itself nicely for an upgraded sound system ! ! I can only imagine your unleashing the full sonic fury of who was it ? Sade ?

LOL… B’s only suggestion is to sell the damn thing and buy a decent car.
heh !
Its a slippery slope hes on. I’ve fallen down it myself by the time hes done the money hes spent could have gone to the car he really wants. Sell it and get the real deal.
The next vehicle is an Alfa Sportwagon.. I don’t care if I have to go car-less for 3 months to find a good one for a good deal. As for now, the lowly Skoda has almost everything I think I want. If I ever decide I want to add a turbo, it’s time to sell it..
I know many people who are very happy with their Skodas. I think that there’s a Western European disdain for them due to the fact that the cars were old and crappy before VW bought Skoda many years ago.
