Analyze this.

I stayed up until 2:00 this morning listening to my new Thom Yorke cd (not bad at all… ) and when I finally drifted off to sleep I had the freakiest dream. I was walking along the river with a little spotted bird on my shoulder and each time I’d see something pretty… some piece of architecture or a statue or something… I’d point to it and the bird would say “BOMBASTIC” in just this huge Barry White kind of voice.
Finally, I decided to go back home because the sun was really bright and it was giving me a headache… but as I turned around to leave I saw my mother standing in the water dressed in robes like jesus baptizing people or something. I asked her what she was doing in germany, but she didn’t seem to hear me. Then the bird on my shoulder scooted a little closer to my ear and whispered “you dream in parables you know…”
What the hell?? I’m sure my subconscious is trying to tell me something, and with all my ‘mother’ issues it probably can’t be good, but I’m thinking it’s is giving me waaay too much credit if it thinks I can decipher this David Lynch-esque crap at 3:00 in the morning.
Anyway, just figured I’d get it down before I forgot… feel free to ignore this post. Or take a stab at dream interpretation. Or recommend a good shrink. Or maybe just remind me it’s perfectly normal for fucked up people to have weird dreams. lol.
On this day..

hmmm …
Today was Full Moon … a 100% Full Moon.
I Googled “Thom Yorke” + bombastic …. 23,000 hits … did you read a review of it somewhere ?
The bright sun … could be the loss of your favorite sunglasses earlier.
I’m not sure I wish to dwelve into the mother thing at this point.
And yeah it is perfectly normal for fucked up people to have weird dreams … I ahve been having some recently too … so much so I may actually be avoiding sleeping … I know I’m not sleeping well.
I ahve also been transposing my posts .. really bad typing .. double words, words left out …
Wow, people say Thom Yorke\’s bombastic? I don\’t see that at all… Queen, that\’s bombastic, Thom/RH, not so much. Uh, that probably wasn\’t the point of your comment though, huh? lol
Piece ‘a cake! In dreams, you’re every player in the dream. So, you are the one in the robes “baptizing” in the river. This new adventure you’re on is a “baptism” of sorts for you. You’re testing the waters and being “baptized” into a new way of living. The mind does speak to us in parables and metaphors, so deciphering those things is easy if you remember that you’re everyone in your dream–just different aspects of your own personality.
The bird is probably your conscious or higher self speaking, and the word it uses is “bombastic” which probably means that’s what you think of your experience in Germany so far. Maybe you see the people/country as “bombastic” or pompous / overblown.
Anyway, I think it was a cool dream, and no, you’re not losin’ it! Dreams are so incredibly interesting! I’ve studied them for many years and used to keep a journal. They’re powerful insights and should never be thought of as just “dreams that make no sense.” They all carry messages and insights.
Happy dreaming!

It’s more likely that I’m worried about me coming across as bombastic than germany… primarily because when I write (and dream)… I use words like ‘bombastic’. heh.
The whole “you dream in parables, you know” thing absolutely says PSYCH MAJOR. Am I right?
Carol
Hi Carol, thanks for posting! My degree’s in international business administration. I did manage to squeeze in just enough psych courses to be a danger to myself & others though. (cue evil laughter)
