If Santa really loved me…
Dec 20th, 2006 by B.
He’d bring me lots of americanized stuff that I’ve been missing, like:
~ snack & sandwich sized ziploc bags
~ banana nut crunch cereal
~ ibc root beer - lots
~ slingbox software complete with american ‘host’ family
~ several large boxes of wheat thins
~ a quart of homemade salsa from Chuy’s restaurant in Austin, Texas
~ a couple of bottles of jalapeno-ranch salad dressing
~ a cazillion frequent flier miles from United
~ a taco bell franchise right across the street
~ gigantic bags of pixie sticks, swedish fish and/or nerds
I don’t want much…
On this day..

You know one Christmas my girlfriend in Berlin asked for Ziploc bags! I send over a box with the gallon size, quart size and sandwich size. She was in 7th heaven!
It took Oliver living in the US for a while to discover that there are now Ziplock bags big enough to store a body in! It’s awesome to put your comforter in a Ziplock for storage. I’d been gone so long, I had no idea…
Why haven’t Ziplocks found a market over here, why?
You don’t realize how much you need/use ziploc bags until you run out. We can get the equivalent of gallon & quart size, but they’re expensive.
Snack (the ones I seem to use the most) and sandwich just don’t exist…. and boy do I miss them.
wow, no wheat thins or swedish fish?? Is Euroe still a communist continent? Do they let you have air over there?
Tim - We’re allowed air, but we have to stand in a long line to get it. We’re currently on a waiting list for running water…
mmmmmm … Chuy’s salsa … I may have to go to Austin in the next few weeks …
Remus- The only thing better than Chuy’s salsa (love the big chunks of carrots) is their bean & cheese green chili burritos. SO, so good… order one for me.
you could always find a nice german family living in the u.s. that misses german stuff and swap!
Kat- That’s not a bad idea at all… I should look into it.
On an unrelated note, I can never seem to leave a comment in your blog. Don’t know if it’s something I’m doing wrong or if you’ve got some software problems. Anyway… I do read your blog!
