Holy hell, photo madness!

Warning… 60 or so photos posted below!
As we were loading our rental car (or car hire as it’s called in the UK)… notice the steering wheel’s on the wrong side:

Something freaky we noticed about The Tube (subway) were all the spiked thingys above the line… over the clock… above the signs. It looked like something out of Hellraiser:

One of the favorite days we spent was at Hampton Court. It’s rumored to be haunted but, alas, no ghostie sightings for us. This was our guide… everyone who works there dresses in period costumes & uses a dialect from the court of Henry the 8th (mean bastard that he was…):

Here are a few grounds shots of Hampton Court (cameras weren’t allowed inside)… it’s HUGE and absolutely beautiful:

We made sure to hit the maze while we were there. I always thought the maze from The Shining was the most famous… oh well, spoken like a true american:

Ok, moving on… what’s a trip to London without visiting Buckingham Palace:

And don’t forget to take in the changing of the guard:

As if this hasn’t been boring enough, Brigit will now pay tribute to one of her favorite things… museums. Here’s a miniscule sampling of what the British Museum has to offer. I was really blown away by their collection & how it’s displayed. There’s so much natural light, I loved it:

Like most major cities, I kind of found London to be ugly, but when you get out in the countryside it’s all this:

And this:

And this:

Ok, on to Stonehenge:

Random, but London cabs are really cool:

Next up, Leeds Castle (I hope I spelled that right…). The castle itself wasn’t that cool because it was fairly modern, but the grounds, freaky-ass grotto and all the birds made it well worth the visit:

Ok, this is just a few shots from one memory card (out of 4). I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted.
On this day..

Briget, I love the London pictures, they turned out great, & it looks like the weather was really nice for you too……I particularly like the pictures of the birds, I don’t think I’ve ever seen swans w/ black necks & red beaks before……….Thanx for sharing them
WOW!! ET, I’m blown away by your photos!!! Every single one made me want to go back for a visit! Don’t know which one I enjoyed the most, but I’m kinda partial to the swans–being a nut case about birds. I hope you’ll post more, although I know how exhausting it is to do that. Thanks again for letting us “stalkers” in on your vacation! Cheers!
Those spikey thing everywhere on the tube are to stop pidgeons and other birds landing and crapping all over the place!
I beleive the Black Neck swans come from South America
Fantastic shots! Makes me miss England. It’s been so long now since I was there.
So that’s what those spikey things are for! I just figured they didn’t want people climbing around the tube.
Looks like you had beautiful weather. Gorgeous photos.
