Last night we took the plunge and ordered our first German laptop:

It’s a Fujitsu-Siemens that we found a pretty good deal on through www.geizhals.at/de (thanks Sabi!). Didn’t even have to go into an electronics store, which made it the perfect shopping experience as far as I’m concerned.

Anyway, I’m anxious to see what I think of it. I have the option of falling in love or passing and it will become Jim’s and we’ll order something else for me. I had my heart set on a Toshiba Satellite and I won’t lie about why… because it has an orange case, and orange is my favorite color. But to sensible Jim color shouldn’t be the basis for major electronics purchases (he’s probably right, but then again… ) and he’s insisting the Amilo’s far superior in every way. Still, it’s not as pretty.

I’m hoping once it arrives and is placed in my arms we’ll imprint on each other and before you know it I’ll be knitting little laptop cozies and singing lullabies. Time will tell…

* By the way, everyone’s probably already seen this (I’m usually the last to know..) but if you haven’t seen the Will Ferrell Landlord video, you should check it out. Too funny… and this coming from someone who can’t stand Will Ferrell. Once I was done laughing though, I spent the next 20 minutes trying to figure out who encourages their kiddo to do stuff like that. heh.
