Interesting.

When I first posted the latest poll (which continent would you choose to live on if money/career/family weren’t an obstacle) I was just using it as a filler until I came up with a better question. Still, I think it’s pretty fascinating that europe is kicking everyone’s ass. Especially because my blog is mostly viewed by north americans (I guess the europeans are still warming to me…)
I think most americans think that everyone outside of america wants to live there, and I guess I always assumed those same people could think of no better place to be than america… but if this pole’s any indication, that’s not the case.
I know I voted for europe (no big surprise there) even though it’s not perfect, because I can’t imagine giving up the history and natural beauty and laid-back attitude. I guess I just figured there’d be more gungho america supporters out there. Maybe the key is that those people aren’t big fans of my blog… heh.
And poor africa… not a single vote.
*End result before I switched polls:
Europe- 68% (19 votes)
South America- 11% (3 votes)
Asia- 7% (2 votes)
Australia- 7% (2 votes)
North America- 7% (2 votes)
Africa- 0% (0 votes)

i didn’t even consider north america… because if given the world of options, i’m not likely to pick the one i already have.
but i picked asia… i just have always been fascinated by the culture…
It took me several days to decide between North America, Australia and Europe. But since I already live in Europe and Australia has been fascinating me ever since a friend of mine took part in some exchange program in school…
Still, I was really surprised seeing so many people chose Europe as their favourite.
I almost went with South America, but then I remembered how much I hate heat and humidity. Asia would be great, but only if I didn’t have to work… time off is almost unheard of. Australia would be cool, but for some reason I get the feeling I’d get sick of it… don’t know why.
I don’t think the bias in favour of Europe is a surprise. Look at your audience: They may be predominantly American, but they’re people who are interested in the experiences of a family living in Europe.
It’s not exactly an impartial sample group that you’re starting with.
