What gets me is when you hear someone with a PhD say “new-que-lar”. I mean, an idiot like Shrub, sure, but educated scientists say this! How did they make it that far in life without noticing how the word was spelled or that it comes from “nucleus”… or can’t they pronounce that either? Another one that gets to me is “artic”. The freaking word is ARCTIC.

The observation was purely media driven. Yesterday, between watching the season finale of 24, the synopsis of the television show Lost (hosted by its creators) and an episode of Dateline, I heard nuclear mispronounced too many times to count (each show was guilty of it at least once, some many, many times).

Although, yes, dubya may well be the worst offender.
