We don’t need no stinkin’ education.

As of this afternoon school is officially out for Robyn and Sydney. Robbie’s thrilled because she’ll (said with lots of teenage exasperation) finally be in high school, and Sydney’s excited because she’s going into first grade- where the learning actually starts. Kindergarten in germany is basically glorified babysitting, not mandatory, and with very little in the way of real instruction. And me? Well I’m just happy not having to wake anyone up and herd them out the door first thing each morning. Plus I like having my girls home. We take long walks and talk about boys and toys and what we want to be when we grow up. And growing up they certainly are, these beautiful girls of mine. Before long Robbie will be too busy for our summer gabfests… jobs (and boys) and friends (and boys) and university (and more boys) will become the rule instead of the exception, and we’ll be relegated to bit players in her life. And with the way time flies, can Sydney really be all that far behind?
But for now… the summer of ‘07… it’s all about girl power, baby.
zigazig ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
On this day..
