That would be rough. I mean, it’s rough enough with a visit to my parents, but they’re my folks, and I can at least say what I think. In fact, my dad loves nothing more than a good Liberal-bashing debate, so it’s all entertainment for him. Mom gets worked up, but hey, what’s she gonna do, she’s stuck with me. I can’t imagine going through 3 weeks with very conservative family members whom I barely know.

“Devoutly Republican”?! OMG — I was hoping there was no longer such an animal… Please tell me they’re not among the 22% (I know — it’s higher… wishful thinking) who still think Bush is a “good guy”!

I feel for ya. I could keep my mouth shut for MAYBE three days, but three weeks — I admire your restraint in advance!

B. — my best wishes for a painless visit, although i can already imagine how stressful it will be–”devoutly Republican” is not a phrase that I easily understand or accept!

We should try to meet up in Dresden or someplace once my life calms down and yours is less… Republican.
