Online shopping in Germany, part 2.
Sep 21st, 2007 by B.
Continuing yesterday’s post, here are some great online resources I’ve found for kiddos:
First, clothing. You might notice some overlap, but everything mentioned has a nice selection…
- Bon Prix - I’ve bought Sydney quite a few things at Bon Prix. They’re reasonably priced, and have the added bonus of holding up well to multiple washings and the roughhousing of a 6 yr. old. Can’t ask for more than that.
- Neckermann - HUGE selection, with both plus and slim sized departments for children. If you search by price (sorting it from low to high) you’ll find some screamin’ deals…
- Ernsting’s Family - Super cute stuff at super reasonable prices. They also have good deals on things like placemats & kiddo place settings/cups.
- My Toys - They’ll be mentioned again when I go over places to buy toys, but they do have an ample clothing section as well.
- Kinder Butt & Baby Butt - The names alone are fun (especially good is the `BUTTique´where you can find all your maternity clothes)! I’ve ordered several sets of jammies from Kinder Butt and they’ve all been great.
- Baby-Walz - I’m sure all the mommies out there know about Baby Walz, but maybe you didn’t know about the online store? And while Syd’s no longer a baby, the website has a fairly large Disney Princess collection. I ordered her several things for school this year (brotdose, trinkflasche, etc.) that I couldn’t find in the store.
- S. Oliver - I linked you right into the ’sale’ section as they have awesome deals on kids clothes. Keep a regular eye on their sales because things come & go quickly, but I’ve gotten Sydney some great stuff through the online shop… like sweaters for 10€ and jeans for 15€.
- Tchibo - Sure, they may be clothes in a bag that you can buy in grocery stores, but Tchibo makes the cutest rain gear around. Last year I ordered Syd’s rain jacket & pants online because I couldn’t find the size I needed in stores… this year I bought them at Edeka. Either way it’s good stuff and the shipping was reasonable.
- Baur - Great selection, great sorting functions. I’ve found excellent deals on Adidas clothing & shoes for Syd in the past…
- Ebay - If you’re looking for something specific, or a brand particular to your native country, Ebay’s the way to go.
- Fitz - For children 10 & up. (thanks Martina!)
Now for toys! Practically every link above has a toy department. Kinder Butt, Baby Butt, Neckermann, Baur, Ebay and My Toys all have a fairly decent selection. In addition, here are some of our favorite haunts:
- Amazon Deutschland - I have nothing bad to say about amazon.de… the customer service/delivery/quality is always excellent. They’ve got a good sized toy section, as well as lots of english language children’s books & dvds. Be sure to compare prices with amazon.uk first thought, as every so often (even with the conversion to pounds and shipping fees) the U.K. will have a better deal.
- Amazon U.K. - Often you need toys that function in the english language (i.e. all those educational toys your little einstein needs in order to get a jump start on the competition). Amazon in the UK is the place to go. I order stuff from them all the time… things like Bratz dolls that aren’t so popular here, but kids throughout the UK (and Sydney!) are nutso over them. As mentioned above every so often you’ll be shocked to find the cost of ordering/shipping to Deutschland still ends up being a better deal than amazon in deutschland.
- Jako-O - Another store that has it all… I probably should have mentioned them above with the children’s clothing above. Anyway, they’ve got a neat dress up/imagination section and some cute things for babies, too.
- Fun 4 Kids - I’ve never ordered from them but someone told me they have a nice puppet / puppet theater selection.
- Comic 4 You - Order over 50€ and the shipping is free!
- Fan Outlet - Another one I’ve never ordered from, but they seem to have a good selection.
- My Toys - It bears repeating… a great place for toys or party supplies or back to school shopping or clothes or…
- Disney Shop U.K. - To the best of my knowledge there’s not a disneystore.de (please let me know if there is!), so I order lots of stuff through the UK site. They also had cute christmas ornaments last year… you know, the cheesy hallmark-like ornaments with the year stamped on them. I couldn’t find anything like that here.
- Temeon - Not actually a toy store, but they have good deals on Barbie & Little Mermaid stuff so I’m sure I’ll be ordering from them prior to December.
- Happy Toys - Tons of stuff.
Here are a few more from Martina:
- Fitz - For children 10 and up.
Ok, whew, I think that’s it…

“Sofa-King” GREAT!!
(say it with a euro accent, like Shia LaBeouf on SNL a few weeks back-too fantastic!)
Thanks for even more, B! You’re making me feel like I can wear the g-d awful t shirt that says “I’m not a tourist…I live here!!”
Have a great weekend!
It’s “Jako-o”
I used to buy lots of kids’ clothes there, they were great for basics like long-sleeved T’s, turtlenecks, tights, etc. etc.
Have you tried http://www.modeundpreis.de ?
Martina - Thanks for the correction, I was in a hurry & never went back to check my text before posting… that’s what I get.
I’ve never heard of Mode & Preis before, thanks for the tip! Looks like they’ve got some nice stuff.
psst…remove the “c” and it’ll be perfect
Here’s another one: http://www.fit-z.de
It’s Jako-o for children 10 and up.
