Go west, young man.

The other day in language class I found my attention slipping (shocker), so I flipped to the front of my handy-dandy Berliner Platz 1 book and started highlighting all the cities in Germany we’ve visited to date. Seems we’ve covered the south & east, but I was surprised by how much of the north & west we’re still missing.

This can only mean one thing… trips to Potsdam, Magdeburg, Hannover, Rügen, Schwerin, Kiel, Hamburg, Bremen, Minden, Dortmund, Kassel, Düsseldorf, Köln, Bonn & Trier are in our future. I want to be able to say we’ve explored every nook & cranny of Deutschland. Plus I need to finish highlighting my book (can’t stand leaving things half done).

Let me know if you need a tour guide when you come to Cologne or Bonn. They’re my stomping grounds.
I have the northwest covered. I agree with J that all the good stuff in Bremen can probably be seen in one day. However, the coast here is just beautiful as well as the East Frisian Islands. Let me know if you make it to this corner of Germany.
Hamburg here! Any time …. that is if we are here! (Bit late to comment but we were in Denmark for a week and before that …. got a new eye!
I like Magdeburg, Hamburg, Bremen, Köln, & Bonn. I wasn’t impressed with Kiel and Dortmund is a dump - I lived there for 6 months
I hate to admit it, but after all these years I still haven’t found my way to Munich. I can recommend a visit to the Ostsee and Warnemunde … you can find a few nice places that are still reasonably priced.
