Does anyone know if there’s a place in Germany (preferably online - I’m lazy) that sells dated (2007) christmas ornaments? Since the kiddos were born we’ve bought them an ornament each year reflecting their interests that christmas… that way when they’re all grown up & out of the house they’ll have them for their own tree/to remember their childhood/yada yada.
Trouble is, I wasn’t able to find anything even loosely resembling hallmark keepsake ornaments last year. I did searches on uk sites and everything (thinking maybe they had something), but no luck. I ended up ordering them from America in ‘06 and having them shipped… something I’d prefer not to do this year unless absolutely necessary.
I realize there are tons of homemade ornaments at the christmas markets. I could always buy something there, scribble the date on the back in sharpie & call it done, but it doesn’t feel the same. Plus most of those ornaments seemed a little chintzy..
So let me know if you’re aware of something in Deutschland like what I’m looking for… if not I’ll suck it up and pay the 30 bucks in shipping to import these:

Goebel and Hutschenreuther have a new collection of Christmas ornaments each year, but it looks like they don’t print the year (2007) on the ornament, at least not very prominently, maybe it’s somewhere on the bottom by the trademark?
Of course one of those will set you back about 30 bucks…
yeah, i’d of course have no idea… but… the cake was such a success… maybe you should consider trying glass blowing next.

You can always wait until the day after Xmas and buy them online for less..OR offer to name your next child after the friend who buys them and sends them to you from the States…I’m totally “into” a few of my friends for the mailing favors they’ve done for me since we got here.
We have some ornaments on Post, but nothing as cute as what you’ve found, or I’d get them for you myself! I’ll keep looking though!
I like the Kaethe Wohlfahrt ornaments from Rothenburg o.d.T. I bought Amari his first from there last year. They usually have stands at the Christmas markets…or huts really. Some have dates on them, IIRC, and they have a website:
