Sick kiddo trumps the internet every time. Damned asthma. I’ll be back when life normalizes… in the meantime, have a happy & safe holiday season.

Awwww, get well soon Iddy!
Happy Holidays to you all
Nothing worse than having to worry about a sick kiddo. . .sorry to hear that. In the “for what it’s worth” category, I acquired asthma when I moved to Tokyo and was put on all sorts of medications, including steroid inhalers which I hated to use, but they did help. Then I went to a U.S. naturopath who weaned me off all the meds and put me on cod liver oil, a natural supplement called “Quercetin” and vitamin C. What a difference! While I still cough a little when I go out in cold weather, I’m no longer wheezing and suffering the way I used to. Anyway, just thought I’d let you know in case you want to add some of these things to Iddy’s diet. None of them can cause any harm whatsoever, but the steroids. . .well, that’s another matter. Hope your little gal gets well soon!
Thanks for the tip. She’s already on adult doses of steroids… but she can only take them for two weeks or there’s a good chance they’ll stunt her growth and cause a whole host of other problems.
They did x-rays and scans yesterday that show her lungs are slightly abnormal (they’re thinking undetected birth defect) which will become more & more of a problem as she grows older and they have to support additional body weight.
It’s been stressful…
Ouch… My best to your entire family as you go through this.
If there’s anything I can do, let me know.
Hang in there. Hope you’ve found some doctors you feel good about and that Sydney is holding up OK. (My best friend is at Disneyland right now, I’d be happy to have her pick up something princess-themed and bring it back with me in January if it would help.)
PS
The internet misses you.
Hope your daughter is feeling better. I used to think I knew what stress was from work, have now learned the true meaning of the word when my own kids are sick. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
I hope Sydney’s feeling better soon. Worrying about a sick kiddo is scary, we had two weeks where we were freaking out, but everything turned out fine - thank goodness. Also, I had asthma as a kid and it just suddenly went away during my freshman year in college. No idea why…
poor baby… please give her a hug from auntie j.
i wish i could do more, but know i’ll be thinking of you all… hang in there.
