Thank you for answering my questions. There you can see how different you can be raised and educated. During our 3 weeks trip through California, I felt there was nothing more disgusting than using the toilet (as you described it ”launching a torpedo”) and get a wet bum because of the toilet water.
I believe most Germans aren’t very interested in examine their poo. Close the toilet lid and flush, that’s it ;o)
And about David Hasselhoff, as a child/teenager you’re doing one mistake (buying his music) and a whole nation is making fun of you. That’s not really fair ;o).
But I’ve got another question for you:
But I’ve got another question for you:
What’s all about those “Essenschlachten” in American movies? I don’t get it. Is this supposed to be funny; am I just to german to understand this? And does/did this ever happen in real life at any high school or somewhere else?

Katrina - it's never too late. I'll think on it and post an answer toward the end of the weekend. Plus I can consult Robbie... there's a wealth of information there!

If it's not to late to get in a question, what is the difference in american and german teenage girls. Since we're getting a female german exchange student, I'd like to be prepared! :)

<em>Katrina's last blog post..<a href='http://thatgur1.wordpress.com/2008/03/27/chicks-have-arrived/' rel="nofollow">chicks have arrived</a></em>

Wow, all these new Dresdeners! I'm glad you both stumbled across the blog. When we first moved here I used to swear I was one of only four english-speakers in all of Dresden.

Wow, I must say I was amused by the questions about toilets and David Hasselhoff.
My German boyfriend says that David Hasselhoff's "Freedom" cassette was the first one he ever purchased.
Anyways, I am also an American living in Dresden, so this is why I stopped by your blog.
Subscribed!
Cheers!

Not that I have any inside dirt on Prince Harry's paternity, but as my mother is slightly obsessed with the spectacle of the royals, I feel should point out that several of Diana's siblings are red-headed. So, it's at least possible that he's not a bastard. He definitely didn't get his looks from Charles though, did he? Lucky for him.

Enjoy your blog btw. Have been reading for a few months but it's sort of weird now that I've moved to Dresden. "Yes, the weather WAS weird yesterday...."

EXACTLY! A prince with red hair and freckles...hmm. While living in England, some of my British friends and I had an ongoing discussion about this.
