Had a great visit with Blythe of The Blythe Spirit… my first expat meeting of the minds. I was actually nervous about what it would be like to sit down with a virtual stranger I’d met on the internet, but it turns out my fears were unjustified. We found lots to talk about [...]

Today I’ve spent trying to iron out our travel plans for the next several months. We’re intentionally not doing much in December since November was so hectic, but I’m looking forward to future travels. Here’s what’s definite so far:

I’ve been hit with my second winter cold, so I’m taking the easy way out and posting a few photos of our time in Poland. For the most part we stayed in Poznan, but we did visit Gniezno as well, as that’s where my mother-in-law’s family lived prior to immigrating to Pennsylvania.

Tomorrow we leave for a three week tour of germany, poland, the netherlands, france and austria. Seven people, 6 suitcases, 1 squirmy 6 year old, 1 moody teenager and a hyper puppy… all crowded into 1 van. Yowza. Pray for me!
Not sure if I’ll have internet or not at the hotels we’re staying [...]

1. I’ve started referring to america as ‘the colonies’.
2. I’ve developed a mild crush on Jeremy Clarkson.
3. Yesterday I booked plane tickets & rental car for a 9 day visit to London in February.
The interesting thing is that our Feb. time off had been earmarked for a return to the U.S.
When we first moved here [...]
